Counselor LIU Yi Attended the Webinar on Jiangsu-California Trade and Investment Cooperation

The Economic and Commercial Counselor LIU Yi of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles attended the “Jiangsu-California Trade and Investment Cooperation Webinar” on July 19.

This webinar is an important event under the framework of the China Provinces and US California Joint Working Group on Trade & Investment Cooperation, also marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Jiangsu-California sister state partnership.

In her welcoming remarks, Counselor LIU spoke highly of the sub national cooperation which, as she put it, has contributed to the solid foundation of the China-US relations and become a most vibrant factor driving its development. She said that the Joint Working Group framework had become an important platform for China-US sub national cooperation and business exchanges, and believed this webinar would further promote pragmatic cooperation and friendly relations between Jiangsu and California.

The webinar was organized by the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government, the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Cooperation (GO-Biz) and the Bay Area Council, co-organized and supported by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Jiangsu Sub-Council, Los Angeles Regional Council and the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles. More than 100 people from China and the US participated in this webinar.

The webinar consisted of two panels focusing on discussion on issues of life sciences and environmental protection. Government officials, entrepreneurs, scholars and investors from the two sides exchanged ideas on development trends and business information of the two industries, and shared experiences on investment and cooperation. All speakers and panelists agreed that Jiangsu and California, both with unique advantages and impressive progress achieved in these areas over the past years, should work together and make contributions to a healthy and green future.
